Based on specific information, NCB Hyderabad team intercepted an inbound suspicious parcel , which was imported from USA, at a courier firm here, NCB Bangalore Zonal Director Amit Ghawate said in a release. Controlled delivery of this parcel was effected with due approval of competent authority. This parcel was found to be containing 1.42 kg of High Grade Ganja (BUD), concealed in a bloom Mattress in an airtight packet. The quality of BUD appears to be very high grade. During controlled delivery, two persons were apprehended and both have accepted their involvement in the import of the contraband. They have also revealed that they have imported various drugs on multiple occasions from different countries in the past and used to distribute these drugs into various cities of India especially among college students and young professionals. The import of BUD is on an increasing trend. However in 2021, NCB Bangalore had seized around 1 kg of it imported from Greece and had arrested one person. The BUD is also sourced through Darknet and the probability of youngsters getting hooked up to addiction of it initially and then graduating to the use of high end drugs cannot be ruled out.
