Kolhapur, Feb 20 : A 21-year-old college student drowned in a tank at Kalamaba village in Karveer tehsil of the district on Sunday. The youth had gone for swimming at Kalamba tank along with his seven friends this afternoon, where he could not judge the depth of the water and drowned, police said. His friends tried to save him but were unsuccessful. Police and the Fire Brigade personnel along with disaster management division team rushed to the scene and fished out his body. The deceased was identified as Aniruddh Sambhaji Ghatge (21, resident of Shivaji Peth area in the city), who was studying in D D Shinde College here. Further investigation is on, sources added. (UNI)
