Kolkata, Feb 19 : West Bengal saw a slight drop in Covid cases, as the state recorded 281 infections on Saturday, while twelve people died of the city, health officials said. On Friday, the state had logged 319 cases. Twelve more people succumbed to the disease during the last 24 hours, taking the overall toll to 21, 119. North 24 parganas district accounted for the most number of cases – 46, followed by Kolkata at 38. The state’s overall tally of infection has now shot up to 20,13,075. Total active cases on Friday is 6,648. North 24 Parganas topped the fatalities over the last 24 hours with 5 deaths followed by Kolkata (3). The positivity rate is 0.79 percent, while the discharge rate stood at 98.62 percent.(UNI)
