Mumbai, Feb 7 :The city police arrested eight people for allegedly committing an armed robbery of Rs 77 lakh in a broad daylight on Monday at an ‘angadia’ office in eastern suburb of Mulund. The incident occurred this afternoon when four armed men entered the angadia office V P Enterprises at Mulund while one stood outside to keep watch. The four men threatened the staff present in the office at gunpoint and fled with cash of Rs 77 lakh in a car, police said. The entire incident was captured in CCTV (close ciruit TV camera) footage inside the office, which went viral. The robbers were wearing masks. While two of them were wearing white shirts, other two were wearing black shirts. The footage shows the accused threatening the staff with a gun and putting the cash in the bag. During investigation, police recovered Rs 37 lakh from the arrested accused and also recovered four pistols, two country-made pistols and 27 live cartridges, sources added. (UNI)
