Hyderabad, Jan 19 : The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Today  caught a Tahsildar & Joint Sub-Registrar red-handed while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000.

S Sridhar, Tahsildar & Jt Sub-Registrar, Marikal Mandal, Narayanpet District was caught at his office when he demanded and accepted the bribe amount of Rs 20,000 from the complainant Ms Rasala Srishaila, a resident of Moosapeta, Hyderabad, to do an official favour — for succession of the agricultural land from the name of the husband of the complainant to her name, a ACB statement said.

The bribe amount of Rs.20,000 was recovered, at the instance of the accused officer, from the file which was kept on his office table.

Chemical tests conducted on the contact portion of the file yielded positive results.

Sridhar was arrested and produced before the Ist Additional Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases cum Vth Additional Chief Judge, Hyderabad, the statement added.(UNI)
