Maha: Marathwada reports 3,600 fresh Covid cases

Aurangabad, Jan 21 : The Marathwada region of Maharashtra has recorded 3,600 fresh Covid-19 cases and six deaths in the past 24 hours, health authorities said Today.

Reports collected by UNI from the all district headquarters stated that of eight districts in the region, Aurangabad district worst affected recorded highest 1089 cases and three deaths followed by Latur had 633 cases and 2 deaths, Nanded district reported 720 cases and single death, Beed had 349 cases, Osmanabad had 310 cases, Parbhani had 232 cases, Jalna had 224 cases and Hingoli had 155 cases, they added.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 46,197 fresh cases of Covid-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 73,71,757.

The state also registered 37 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,41,951.

Meanwhile,52,025 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 69,67,432 the recovery rate currently stands at 94.52 per cent while the fatality rate is 1.94 per cent.

At present, there are 2,58,569 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.

While,125 fresh cases of new variant Omicron were spotted in the state.

Hence the tally of Omicron remain up to 2199.

While 1144 patients were cured so far, they added.(UNI)
