Telangana reports 2707 fresh Covid-19 cases, two fatalities
Hyderabad, Jan 13 : Telangana registered 2707 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of infections in the state to 7,02,801, health department said Today.
With the death of two patients in the last 24 hours, the toll in the state due to the pandemic rose to 4,049 translating a case fatality rate of 0.57 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here.
As many as 582 people have recuperated from Coronavirus statewide in the past 24 hours to take the total number of recoveries thus far to 6,78,290 constituting a recovery rate of 96.51 per cent.
Currently, the number of active cases in the state stands at 20,462, the bulletin added.
A total of 84,280 samples were tested in the state during the last 24 hours to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 10,026 swab samples are awaited.
Cumulatively, 3,04,52,039 Covid-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the bulletin said.
Among the districts, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) remained the main contributor of the infection by registering a maximum of 1328 new coronavirus cases during the last 24 hours, followed by Medchal Malakjigiri (248), Rangareddy (202), Sangareddy (78), Hanumakonda (75), Nizmabad (60), Mancherial (58), Khammam (56) and Mahabubabad (44) and Bhadradri Kothagudem (40).
The day’s remaining coronavirus cases have been registered by other districts, the bulletin added.(UNI)
