Maha: Marathwada registers 987 fresh COVID-19 cases, no death
Aurangabad, Jan 12 : The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 987 fresh Covid-19 cases and no related death, health authorities informed Today.
Reports collected by UNI from the all district headquarters stated that of eight districts in the region, Aurangabad recorded 349 cases followed by Latur with 216 cases, Nanded 170 cases, Jalna 67 cases, Osmanabad 65 cases, Parbhani 60 cases, Beed 39 cases and Hingoli 24 cases.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 34,424 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 69,87,938.
The state also registered 22 more related deaths, taking the death toll to 1,41,669.
Meanwhile,18,967 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 66,21,070. The recovery rate currently stands at 94.75 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.02 per cent.
At present, there are 2,21,477 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different Covid-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
Meanwhile, 34 fresh cases of the Omicron variant were reported in the state, taking the tally up to 1,281.
So far 499 patients have been cured, they added.(UNI)
