Appropriate steps will be taken for skill development of women: Rekha Sharma
Dharamshala, Jan 9: Chairperson of National Commission for Women Rekha Sharma said that special emphasis will be laid on skill development and capacity building of women so that the economic condition of women can be strengthened.
At the conclusion of the seminar meeting of women’s commissions at Satowri, Dharamsala, National Commission for Women Chairperson said that appropriate steps are being taken to give powers to women’s commissions.
She said that in many states, women’s commissions are ensuring solutions to the problems of women in a very good way. She further said that the National Commission for Women is also ensuring guidance from time to time to women in need of it.
On this occasion, Ekta Kapta, Member Secretary, State Commission for Women gave detailed information about the activities being run by the National Commission for Women.
Rakhi Kahlon, Director, Women and Child Development Department, gave detailed information about the various schemes being run by the department for the empowerment of women. She said that the grievances and problems of women are being redressed in a time bound manner through the Women’s Commission.
Earlier, Indubala, a member of the State Commission for Women, welcomed the Presidents, Vice Presidents, Members and Member Secretaries of the National Commission for Women and all the State Commissions. She also thanked the National Commission for Women for making this two-day symposium a success in the hill town.(UNI)
