Panaji, Jan 9 : Goa has recorded 1,922 new cases of novel Coronavirus and one death during the past 24 hours, the health department said Today.

According to the daily bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services (DHS), with the addition of these new cases, the cumulative number of infections in the state rose to 1,89,909 while the death toll increased to 3,532.

A total of 261 more recoveries were also reported during the past 24 hours, taking the number of recovered cases in the state to 1,77,168.

Recovery rate in the state currently stands at 93.29 per cent.

On Sunday, 1917 patients were advised home isolation, five were admitted to hospitals while four were discharged.

During the same period, as many as 7761 new samples were tested, taking the number of tests conducted in the state so far to 16,73,795.

Currently, the state houses 9209 active COVID-19 cases.(UNI)
