Surajkund mela rescheduled
Chandigarh, Jan 7 : Haryana government has decided to reschedule the 35th Surajkund International Craft Mela-2022.
In view of the current Covid surge the annual fair which was to be held from February 4 to 20 will be issued new dates.
Te state government has taken the decision in view of new variant Omicron’s spread.
The new dates will be decided later only after taking stock of ground situation.
The Surajkund Mela provides platform for artists across the globe. Hosted annually by the Haryana Tourism Department its many offbeat attractions invite major footfalls
Over 20 countries from South Asia, Africa, and Europe actively participate.
Surajkund means ‘Lake of the Sun’. It is an ancient reservoir that was built by King Suraj Pal of the Tomar dynasty in the 10th century.(UNI)
