Panaji, Jan 6 : Goa recorded 971 new cases of novel coronavirus and two deaths during the past 24 hours, the health department said Today.

According to the daily bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services (DHS), with the addition of these new cases, the cumulative number of infections in the state rose to 1,84,766 while the death toll increased to 3,528.

A total of 74 more recoveries were also reported during the past 24 hours, taking the number of recovered cases in the state to 1,76,625.

Recovery rate in the state currently stands at 95,59 per cent.

On Thursday, 960 patients were advised home isolation, 11 were admitted to hospitals while seven were discharged.

During the same period, as many as 4,744 new samples were tested, taking the number of tests conducted in the state so far to 16,51,749.

Currently, the state houses 4613 active COVID-19 cases.(UNI)
