Hyderabad’s popular event ‘numaish’ takes off

Hyderabad, Jan2 : Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan on Saturday inaugurated All India Industrial Exhibition, popularly known in local parlance as ‘numaish’ at the sprawling Exhibition grounds in the Nampally area of the city.

The 45-day annual event is being organized while following all COVID-19 safety norms and visitors entering the ‘numaish’ without masks will be fined Rs.1,000 .according to the functionaries of the organizing committee.

The state health department has put up a vaccination center at the venue. The organizers also arranged hand sanitisers at every stall and entrances to the exhibition.

Over 2,000 stalls selling a wide variety of items including clothes, handicrafts and decorative items have been put up by several states from the country including Jammu and Kashmir.

Scores of food stalls offering different kinds of food dishes from various parts of the country have also come up.

Another popular aspect of the “numaish” ,blaring out ,through loud speakers,of memorable old movie melodies rendered by Moha Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar and other playback singers is also put in place.
