Maha: Marathwada registers 103 fresh COVID-19 cases, one death
Aurangabad, Jan 2 :The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 103 fresh COVID-19 cases and one death during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed Today.
The district headquarters report stated that of eight districts in the region, Aurangabad district recorded 26 cases and single death, followed by Latur 24 cases, Osmanabad 21 cases, Beed 12 cases, Parbhani 6 cases and Nanded and Jalna recorded 7 cases each.
While in Hingoli district no new Covid cases were reported on Saturday, they added.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 9,170 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 66,87,991.
The state also registered 7 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,41,225.
Meanwhile,1,445 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 65,10,541. The recovery rate currently stands at 97.35 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.
At present, there are 32,225 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
Besides, 6 fresh cases of Omicron variant were also recorded in the state on Saturday.
With these new cases, tally of Omicron rose to 460, of which 180 patients were cured so far, they added.(UNI)
