Hyderabad, Jan 1 : Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, along with her family members, Today worshipped Lord Venkateswara Swamy at the temple in Jubilee Hills here on the occasion of New Year.

The Governor, accompanied by her husband, a noted Nephrologist Dr P Soundararajan, performed special ‘puja’ to Lord Venkateswara Swamy at the temple.

Later, talking to media personnel, she said: “I am very happy to pray Lord Venkateswara on the new year’s day and I wish all the people of Telangana and the Nation besides people of Puducherry (as she is holding additional charge of Lt Governor) and her own state Tamil Nadu that every one should be happy and free of Coronavirus and Omicron too.”

The Governor said this should be a healthy and happy new year and every one should be very happy and they should get what all they want.

‘My appeal to people is to please get yourself vaccinated. It is god given opportunity and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided vaccination to crores and crores of people in the country.

Don’t hesitate to take the vaccination. Take the first dose and if due for the second dose of vaccine, kindly take the second dose. Some people are hesitating to take the second dose. If you are not taking the second dose of vaccine, the first dose which you have taken is not much useful for your body,” Dr Soundararajan said.

The Governor called upon the people to happily celebrate the New Year, wear masks, maintain social distancing, wash your hands and be happy.(UNI)
