Maha: Marathwada registers 61 fresh COVID cases, single death
Aurangabad, Jan 1 : The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 61 fresh COVID cases and one virus-related death during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed Today.
The district headquarters report stated that of eight districts in the region, Aurangabad district recorded 18 cases and single death followed by Latur 18 cases, Osmanabad 9 cases, Parbhani 6 cases, Nanded 4 cases and Jalna, Beed and Hingoli districts 2 cases each, they added.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 8,067 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 66,78,821.
The state also registered 8 more deaths, pushing the death toll to 1,41,526.
Meanwhile,1,766 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 65,09,096. The recovery rate currently stands at 97.55 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.11 per cent.
At present, there are 24,509 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
Besides, 4 fresh cases of Omicron were reported in the state on Thursday. With this, tally of Omicron climbed up to 454, of which 157 have recovered so far, they added.(UNI)
