Panaji, Dec 30 : Goa recorded 261 new cases of novel coronavirus and one death during the past 24 hours, the health department said Today.

According to the daily bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services (DHS), with the addition of these new cases, the cumulative number of infections in the state rose to 1,80, 660 while the death toll increased to 3,521.

A total of 61 more recoveries were also reported during the past 24 hours, taking the number of recovered cases in the state to 1,76,283.

Recovery rate in the state currently stands at 97.58 per cent.

Today, 260 patients were advised home isolation, one was admitted to hospitals while two were discharged.

During the same period, as many as 3610 new samples were tested, taking the number of tests conducted in the state so far to 16,23,083.

Currently, the state houses 856 active COVID-19 cases.(UNI)
