Mumbai reports over 3k new COVID-19 cases
Mumbai, Dec 30 : The COVID surge continued here Today as the city detected more than 3,000 new cases, throwing the Health Department into a tizzy.
According to official data, Mumbai registered 3,928 new cases while the districts of Thane and Pune reported 864 and 520 more cases, respectively.
In a further worrying sign, the corona positivity rate has gone to 8.5 per cent in Mumbai as compared to yesterday’s 4 per cent.
Owing to the sudden spurt in the pandemic figures, CM Uddhav Thackeray had scheduled a meet with the State COVID Task Force.
However, the meeting was postponed at the eleventh hour due to technical reasons.
Meanwhile, several political leaders like MP Supriya Sule and her husband, MLA Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil and BJP leader Harshwardhan Patil have also tested COVID positive.
In the tinsel town, actress Nora Fatehi has been recently infected. All of them have been advised
