Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 19 : Kerala has reported 2,995 fresh Covid-19 cases and 11 deaths Today showing no respite from rising number of COVID cases in the State.

About 4,160 people have recovered from the disease today, a press release from the health department said this evening.

“Meanwhile, 11 recent deaths were confirmed due to COVID today. About 85 deaths were also added to the list based on appeals seeking its inclusion in the list taking the death toll in the State to 44,503,” the release added.

About 49,065 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. Currently 1,40,333 people are under observation in the State —

1,36,127 are at their homes or institutional quarantine centres and 4,206 in hospitals.

Today, 206 people infected with virus were admitted in hospitals in the State. Weekly Infection Population Ratio (WIPR) is above 10 at six wards where strict restriction is being imposed.(UNI)
