All India RPF Band competitions commence at RPF Training Centre in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Dec 15 : The three-day 10th All India RPF Band competitions, hosted by South Central Railway (SCR), commenced at Railway Protection Force (RPF) Training Center in Moula-Ali near here Today.

A total of 180 band staff from 12 RPF Band teams including the host SCR and teams from Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF), Central Railway, Eastern Railway, East Central Railway, Northern Railway, North Central Railway, North Eastern Railway, North Western Railway, West Central Railway, South East Central Railway and South Eastern Railway were participating in the competitions.
Mr Sanjay Sankrityayan, IG-Director, RPF Training Centre, Moula-Ali who inaugurated the Band Competitions conveyed his best wishes and advised all the teams to participate in it with the spirit of true sportsmanship.
In his Guest of Honour speech, Mr G M Eswara Rao, IG-Principal Chief Security Commissioner, SCR emphasized that the importance of such sporting events is to propagate camaraderie and brotherhood amongst the fraternity.
He also mentioned about maintaining the highest standards in keeping up with the tradition of such events.
The participating teams will be judged in three competitive events–Quick March, Slow March & Overture by three Judges. Bugler competition will also be held during this event.

Based on the performance, the teams will be judged for First, Second and Third place.
Further, the All India RPF Band team will be selected by choosing the best performing members from the 12 participating teams.

The selected team will represent Railway Protection Force in 21st All India Police Band Competition, a SCR release said.(UNI)
