Sensex bounces back 886.51 pts
Mumbai, Dec 7 : Snapping a losing streak of last two sessions, the BSE Sensex Today registered a solid gains of 886.51 pts at 57,633.65 following gains in Metal, Bankex, Realty and Finance stocks amid positive Asian Market.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose 264.45 pts at 17,176.70.
Tumbling down over 1700 pts in last two sessions, the Sensex jumped 378 pts at 57,125.98 in opening trade. It zoomed up 1158 pts at 57,905.63, days high, before closing at 58,633.65, surging 886.57 pts from its last close.
The Sensex registered days high and low at 57,905.63 and 56,992.27 respectively.
The Nifty recorded days high and low at 17,251.65 and 16,987.15 pts respectively.
The equity market pushed up on the strength of Metal, Finance, Bankex, Realty and Auto stocks.
In scrips, Banking stocks excelled today.
Tata Steel was a star gainer, up by 3.63 % to Rs 1149.35 followed by Axis Bank by 3.60 % to Rs 687.20, ICICI Bank by 3.46 % to Rs 734.65, Kotak Bank by 2.74 % to Rs 1938 and SBI by 2.53 % to Rs 476.65.
The Mid Cap rose by 1.29 % and Small Cap by 1.14 %.
In 30 scrips, 29 advanced while 1 declined.
Asian Market too also in green, as Hang Seng rallied 2.5 per cent, and Nikkei by 1.9 per cent.
Even, Kospi and Taiwan too moved up 0.6 per cent each.
China’s Shanghai Composite was up 0.2 per cent.(UNI)
