With the coldest temperature, Rajasthan sees low visibility
Pune, Dec 7 :The lowest minimum temperature of 7.5°C was recorded at Churu in west Rajasthan, the IMD said Today.
At 8.30 am, dense fog was observed in isolated pockets over Himachal Pradesh, west Rajasthan and Bihar.
While, moderate fog was observed in isolated pockets over Assam, Meghalaya, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and shallow fog prevailed in isolated pockets over Delhi, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Madhya Maharashtra.
During the same time period, following visibility (in meters) was recorded at Churu was 25; Sundarnagar (HP) and Bhagalpur (Bihar) was 50 each; Bhiwani (Haryana), Chhitorgarh (E. Raj.), Tikamgarh and Nowgong (MP), Cherrapunji and Haflong (Meghalaya and Assam) and Jagadalpur (Chhattisgarh); Delhi (Palam), Hisar (Haryana), Mahdi (HP), Pilani (W.Raj), Kota (E. Raj), Bhopal and Khajuraho (MP), Nashik city, Gaya (Bihar) and Jamshedpur (Jharkhand) was500 each.
Night temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at many places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar and Jharkhand; at a few places over east Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada, Vidarbha and Rayalaseema; at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal, east Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
The night temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at most places over Chhattisgarh; at many places over Assam,Meghalaya, Gujarat Region, Madhya Maharashtra, Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal; at a few places over Arunachal Pradesh, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, east Rajasthan, Rayalaseema, Telangana and south interior Karnataka; at isolated places over Saurashtra and Kutch; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over Punjab; at many places over west Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Mahe, Andaman and Nicobar Islands; at a few places over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Konkan, Goa and near normal over rest parts of the country.
Thunderstorm was observed (from 0830 hrs IST of yesterday to 0830 hrs IST of today) at isolated places over Tripura, Kerala, Mahe and Himachal Pradesh.
The northeast monsoon has been active over Kerala.
Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and at many places in Gangetic West Bengal, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh and at a few places in Tamil Nadu and Kerala and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Odisha, west Uttar Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and south interior Karnataka.
Mainly dry weather prevailed in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat region, Saurashtra and Kuch, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, coastal Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.(UNI)
