COVID-19: Telangana records 137 new cases, two more deaths
Hyderabad, Nov 22 : Telangana added 137 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, pushing the cumulative caseload of the state to 6,74,692.
COVID-19 deaths surged to 3,983 after two patients succumbed to the deadly virus during the last 24 hours translating a case fatality rate of 0.59 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here tonight.
A total of 172 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide in a span of 24 hours taking the overall recoveries thus far to 6,67,171 constituting a recovery rate of 98.88 per cent.
The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 3,538, the bulletin said.
As many as 31,514 samples were tested in the state during the past 24 hours out of which the results of 746 swab samples are awaited.
Cumulatively, 2,83,12,278 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the bulletin said.
Among the districts, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) was the main contributor of the infections by registering 54 new cases during the last 24 hours, followed by Karimnagar (15) and Rangareddy (11).
The day’s remaining coronavirus cases have been registered by other districts, the bulletin added.(UNI)
