For the second week, mercury continues to dip in Rajasthan

Pune, Nov 22 : The lowest minimum temperature of 5.5°C was recorded at Churu in west Rajasthan, the IMD said Today.
Since the past week, the western state of Rajasthan has continued to record chilling temperatures, with the mercury constantly dipping with every passing day.
Night temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at most places over Gujarat State, Marathwada and Vidarbha; at many places over Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra and Odisha; at a few places over Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Rayalaseema, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam; at a few places over east Rajasthan and Gangetic West Bengal; at isolated places over east Uttar Pradesh, Konkan, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Assam, Meghalaya, Andaman and Nicobar Islands; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, interior Karnataka, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura; at isolated places over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and west Uttar Pradesh. They were below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at a few places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and near normal over rest parts of the country.
Thunderstorm was observed (from 0830 hours IST of yesterday to 0830 hours IST of today) at isolated places over Chhattisgarh.
The northeast monsoon has been vigorous over coastal Andhra Pradesh while its active over coastal Karnataka.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in coastal Andhra Pradesh and at many places in Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and coastal and south interior Karnataka and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Konkan and Goa, Telangana, Rayalaseema, north Interior Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat region and Tamil Nadu.
Mainly dry weather prevailed in Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Rajasthan and Saurashtra and Kutch.(UNI)
