Telangana logs 103 new COVID-19 cases, one fatality

Hyderabad, Nov 21 : Telangana’s second wave of infection further slowed down as the state added 103 new COVID-19 cases until 1750 hours Today, to push the cumulative caseload to 6,74,555 till date.
One more COVID related death was reported on Sunday in the last 24 hours. The state’s death toll stands at 3,981 translating a case fatality rate of 0.59 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here tonight.
A total of 153 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide in a span of 24 hours taking the overall recoveries thus far to 6,65,861 constituting a recovery rate of 98.87 per cent.
The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 3,575 ,the bulletin said.
As many as 22,902 samples were tested in the state during the last 24 hours to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 596 swab samples are awaited.
Cumulatively, 2,82,80,764 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the bulletin said.
Among the districts, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) remained the main contributor of the infection by registering a maximum of 49 new coronavirus cases during the last 24 hours followed by Rangareddy (13).

The day’s remaining coronavirus cases have been registered by other districts, the bulletin added.(UNI)
