Sensex falls 127 pts
Mumbai, Oct 21 :The BSE Sensex remained weak for the third straight session today as it declined by 127 pts at 61,132.94 in opening trade as selling was seen in Materials, Energy and FMCG stocks.
The Nifty too eased by 38.03 pts at 18,228.55.
Fluctuation was seen in early trade, as the Sensex opened on a positive note at 61557.94, up by 298 pts, it suddenly went in red as selling was seen in Materials, Energy and FMCG stocks.
At the moment it was trading at 61,132.94, down 127 pts.
The sensex registered days high and low at 61,621.20 and 61,059.29 pts respectively.
The Nifty recorded days high and low at 18,384.20 and 18,217.35 pts.
The Mid Cap declined by 0.28 pc and Small Cap by 0.08 pc.
In 30 scrips, 11 advanced while 19 declined.
The losers were Tech Mahindra by 2.76 pc to Rs 1496.70, HCL Technology by 2.25 pc to Rs 1204.60, TCS by 1.41 pc to Rs 3557, Dr Reddy’s Lab by 1.17 pc to Rs 4702 and Reliance Industries by 1.16 pc to Rs 2668.55.
The gainers were Kotak Bank by 2.06 pc to Rs 2055.90, Powergrid by 0.93 pc to Rs 196.10, HDFC by 0.89 pc to Rs 2820.35 and NTPC by 0.58 pc to Rs 141.10.(UNI)
