Telangana registers 191 fresh COVID-19 cases, one fatality Today
Hyderabad, Oct 20 : Telangana registered 191 fresh Coronavirus cases until 1730 hours today taking the total tally of cases in the state to 6,69,556 so far.
After one patient died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours the total toll due to COVID-19 stands at 3,942 till date translating a case the fatality rate of 0,58 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.3 per cent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here tonight.
As many as 162 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide in the past 24 hours pushing the total number of recoveries thus far to 6,61,646 constituting a recovery rate of 98.81 per cent while the national recovery rate was 98.13 per cent.
Currently, the number of active cases in the state stands at 3,968, the bulletin said.
In all, 41,682 samples were tested on Wednesday in the state to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 2,784 swab samples are awaited.
Cumulatively, more than 2,71,56,065 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
Among the districts, by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) remaining the main contributor of the infection, recorded 49 fresh coronavirus cases as of Wednesday, followed Karimnagar (19), Rangareddy (13), Warangal Urban (12) and Medchal Malkajgiri & Mancherial (10).
The day’s remaining coronavirus cases have been reported by other districts, the bulletin added.
