SpiceJet to operate flights from Kushinagar starting this festive season
New Delhi, Oct 20 : Soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s inauguration of the Kushinagar airport, low-cost carrier SpiceJet has announced to connect the town in Uttar Pradesh with Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata starting this festive season.
“The airline will add Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh as its newest UDAN destination and connect it with the National Capital. The airline will be connecting Kushinagar with two more key metros – Mumbai and Kolkata – starting December 18, 2021, SpiceJet said in a statement today.
In a boost to travel and tourism in the country’s most populous state, the Prime Minister inaugurated Kushinagar International Airport.
Kushinagar International Airport is a tribute to the devotion of Buddhist society around the world” Modi said in his inaugural speech.
“There is a special focus on the development of the places associated with Lord Buddha through better connectivity, and the creation of facilities for the devotees,” he further said.
Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, SpiceJet said, “The launch of our new UDAN flights to Kushinagar International Airport will give an impetus to tourism of this holy city where Lord Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana.
