Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Oct 16 : AIMIM MP from Aurangabad, Imtiaz Jaleel has been re-appointed as a member of the central government’s Standing Committee on Urban Development for the year 2021-22.

The committee has important power to make decisions related to urban matters. It deals with all the projects sponsored by the central government like Smart City, Amrut Yojana, Metro Rail, CPWD, Banking, etc.

The Lok Sabha Secretariat appoints members of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha every year and sets up government committees for a period of one year, an official press statement issued on Saturday stated.

Mr Jaleel, who was also a member of the Urban Development Standing Committee last year, has been re-nominated to the committee.

M J Akbar, Digvijay Singh, Gautam Gambhir, Ms Hema Malini, Sanjay Singh, Beni Behanan were also members of the committee.

Mr Jaleel is also a member of the central government’s Civil Aviation Committee and has recently been appointed as a board member of Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, the statement added.(UNI)
