Rebellion with the announcement of candidates for the byelection in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Oct 7: There has been a rebellion in the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after the announcement of candidates in the by-elections of the Vallabhnagar and Dhariawad Vidhan Sabhas in Rajasthan.
Today, Congress gave tickets to Preeti Shaktawat from Vallabhnagar and Nagraj Meena from Dhariyavad, while BJP gave tickets to Himmat Singh Jhala from Vallabhnagar and Khet Singh Meena from Dhariyavad. This caused a rebellion in both parties.
Devendra Shaktawat, older brother of former MLA Late Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who is demanding a Congress ticket from Vallabhnagar, said that he’s going to stand by his announcement to form a separate party named Gulab Singh Shaktawat Congress.
After the BJP gave a ticket to Khet Singh Meena in Dhariyavad, supporters of Kanhaiya Meena – son of former MLA Gautam Lal Meena and a strong contender for the ticket – gathered at his house. More than two thousand supporters gathered outside Kanhaiya Meena’s house in Lasadiya and raised slogans. Supporters are saying that if Kanhaiya was not given a ticket due to familism, then why was Deepti Maheshwari, daughter of former MLA Kiran Maheshwari, given a ticket in Rajsamand.
A ruckus erupted in Dhariyavad where Nathulal Meena has decided to file his nomination as an independent after Congress announced its candidate.
Meanwhile, Janta Sena’s Randhir Singh Bhinder and his wife Deependra Kunwar filed their nominations from Vallabhnagar. Both filed their nominations as independent candidates. Both were waiting for Congress and BJP tickets to be decided. Now after the tickets of both the parties have been decided, it remains to be seen which of the two will withdraws their names. Bhinder’s wife Deependra is in BJP.(UNI)
