Telangana Govt issues 6,70,999 new Food Security Cards in state: Minister
Hyderabad, Oct 7: Telangana Civil Supplies Minister Gungula Kamalakar today informed the Assembly that the government has issued 6,70,999 new Food Security Cards (FSCs) in the state.
Replying to a question raised by the members during question hour, Mr Kamalakar said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has been directed to issue FSCs to every eligible person.
As many as 9,53,394 applications were received for fresh FSCs in the state, the Minister said 6,70,999 applicants (21.34 lakh people) were found eligible and fresh FSCs were issued to them.
Mr Kamalakar said that there is more than 90 lakh FSCs in the state. About 2.81 crore population (75 per cent) out of 3.92 crore population in the state were benefited. (UNI)
