TSRTC earns Rs 62.02 cr through Cargo Parcel and Courier Services: Minister
Hyderabad, Oct 7 : Telangana Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar today informed the Assembly that the State owned Road Transport Corporation (RTC) has earned Rs 62.02 crore through Cargo Parcel and Courier services in the state.
Replying to a question raised by the members during question hour, Mr Kumar said that the TSRTC has set a target to earn Rs 75 crore to Rs 100 crore through Cargo parcel and Courier services.
He hoped to achieve the target because it earned a good amount during the last six months.
The Minister said to improve financial position and to achieve self-reliance, the TSRTC has launched Cargo Parcel and Courier services in the state.
Claiming that the customers are very happy with TSRTC Cargo and Parcel Services, he said the TSRTC is planning to introduce Home pickup and Home delivery of Parcel services in the state.
At Present, TSRTC is having 195 Cargo Vehicles besides RTC buses, the Minister said 50 more Cargo Transport Vehicles (CTVs) will come up in the near future.
Mr Kumar said the TSRTC has Cargo Parcel and Courier Services in 177 bus stands and 790 agents across the state.
The Minister said that discussions are going on with the e-commerce platform Amazon and a Memorandum of Understanding will be held soon to the transport the goods and courier service.
He said the TSRTC also introduced Cargo Parcel and Courier service at a few centres in Karnataka, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.
Mr Kumar said the TSRTC also tied up with the Government Departments like Women and Child Welfare, Telugu Academy, Board of Intermediate Education, Food Corporation of India (FCI), Singareni to transport their goods.(UNI)
