Thane, Oct 7: With 239 new COVID-19 cases being reported in the last 24 hours, a tally of infection has surged to 5,60,861 in Thane district, an official said today.

The virus also claimed three more lives, taking a death toll to 11,427 in the district.

The mortality rate was 2.03 percent at present, he added.

In the neighboring Palghar district, the COVID-19 case count has gone up to 1,36,952, while the death toll stands at 3,277 an official from Palghar said. (UNI)
