Jayakwadi dam releases excess water on 7th day in row
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Oct 5 : The Irrigation Department authority today morning increased the discharge of the flooded water from Jayakwadi dam in view of continues inflow from upstream dams across from Nashik and Ahmednagar district .
According to the irrigation sources stated that ,today is the seventh day to release excess water into downstream of river basin , which was already fill up to 99.62 per cent with hight of 1591.73 feet of , sources said.
On September 29 the authorities starts releasing water and till today continue .
As per inflow the authorities increasing or decreasing the release time to time from the dam.
On Tuesday 0600 hours the dam authorities has lifted the 18 gates up to two feets hight from one feet following heavy inflow in upstream basin of river.
At present 37,728 cuses per second inflow of water admitting in the dam and 37,728 cuses per second water discharging in downstream.
Due to the heavy discharge of flooded water in to river basin water were entered several river side areas villages in Jalna ,Beed, Parbhani and Nanded districts of region administrations have issued alerts to the residents of the villages nearby the river not to venture around the bay of river.(UNI)
