Sri Lanka Deputy Commissioner calls on Telangana Minister
Hyderabad, Sep 30 : Sri Lanka Embassy Deputy Commissioner, Chennai Dr D Venkateswaran today called on Telangana Tourism and Culture Minister V Srinivas Goud at the Minister’s chamber.
During the meeting, Mr Goud discussed about tourism, devotional and cultural relations between the two countries.
He said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar has taken several steps to improve tourism sector in the state. As part of it, Buddavanam Project being developed in about 250 acres of land and it will be inaugurated very soon.
The Minister also asked the officials to take steps to strengthen the sectors of devotional tourism and culture between Sri Lanka and Telangana by creating a tourism circuit.
Stating that as per directions of the Chief Minister, Buddhism Centers of Phanigiri, Nelakondapalli, Kotilingalu, Bodhan Kurthi are being developed, Mr Goud said the state is being developed as a Tourism Hub.
The Minister also explained to the Deputy Commissioner of Sri Lanka that the state of Telangana possesses several ancient and historical monuments.(UNI)
