Admin on alert after continuing inflow of water raised up the level of Godavari

Aurangabad, Sep 30: In view of continuous heavy inflow of 89,604 causes water entering from upstream dams of Nashik and Ahmednagar district into one of biggest dam Jayakwadi at Paithan in the district, irrigation authorities continues discharging 89,604 water into the river downstream.

At 0600 hours today, a present total of 27 gates were opened. Of them, 18 Gates opened heights of 4 feet while nine by half feet, they said.

Dam official sources on Thursday morning stated that the dam is presently maintaining 98.51 percent livestock with a height of 1521.73 feet which compared to the full capacity of 1522 feet.

The continues discharging of excess water in the river Godavari results in raising the level of the river which is likely to water entered in many villages residing bay of river.

Authorities have already alerted all the villages in Jalna, Beed, Parbhani, and Nanded districts residing at the bay of river Godavari by the district administration not to venture into the river. (UNI)
