Panaji, Sep 29 : Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today urged women in the state to become self-reliant in every aspect of life thereby complementing the Swayampurna Goa initiative of the government.

Speaking at a program at the Secretariat, he said the government was implementing various welfare schemes and projects for the upliftment of the womenfolk in the state.

”Women need to approach the government machinery to get optimum benefit of the government schemes. Swayampurna Goa initiative mainly aims to eradicate red-tapism in the bureaucracy and spread awareness about government schemes through Swayanpoorna Mitra and facilitate the people to avail maximum benefits of the welfare schemes without any hassle,” he said.

Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho appreciated the efforts taken by the office-bearers and elected women representatives of Goa Mahila Shakti Abhiyan during the pandemic.

He said elected women representatives fearlessly went around to help out the needy people during the pandemic.(UNI)
