World Tourism Day observed in Bangladesh
Dhaka, Sep 27 : Bangladesh observed the World Tourism Day today with various programs being chalked out by the Bangladeshi government and different organizations to celebrate the event.
Bangladeshi President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages on the eve of the day wishing all-out success of the programs.
A cooking show was organized by the Bangladesh Tourism Corporation, and a colorful horse carriage rally was brought out in the city on Monday morning.
Members of the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh, the Aviation and Tourism Journalists’ Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB), a platform of journalists covering aviation and tourism affairs, the Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB), the Bangladesh Tourism Corporation and other stakeholders took part in the rally.
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali, among others, spoke at a discussion meeting while highlighting the importance of the day in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic which has had a massive social and economic impact.
The World Tourism Organization has designated the World Tourism Day 2021 as a day to focus on “Tourism for Inclusive Growth.”(UNI)
