There is no need to increase RTC charges: Sanjay

Hyderabad, Sep 23: Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar has said that there is no need to increase State Road Transport Corporation (RTC) charges.
Bandi Sanjay Kumar, who is on a padayatra on the 26th day as part of the Praja Sangrama Yatra, addressed thousands of people at Machareddy junction on Wednesday
BJP state president and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar were angry over the state government’s decision to increase RTC and electricity tariffs.
He demanded that the RTC should immediately roll back its decision to increase fares.
He said Rs 40 per liter was going into the state government’s account in the name of a hike in petrol and diesel prices.
He clarified that there would be no need to increase RTC charges if the state government reduces the amount received in the name of VAT.
He was incensed that free electricity was being given to farmers and the burden of electricity charges was being imposed on the people. KCR, which has repeatedly boasted that Telangana is at the top of the country’s GDP, was asked why RTC and current charges need to be increased.
He said the CM and his family members were conspiring to sell RTC assets and hence the RTC was splitting the unions.
