Mah: All-party meet on OBC quota ends on positive note
Aurangabad/Mumbai, Sep 3 : Maharashtra Backward Classes Commission was Today instructed to collect empirical data for granting the OBC quota in local bodies across the state.
The unanimous decision was reached in an all-party meeting chaired by CM Uddhav Thackeray and attended by state Cabinet Ministers in Mumbai.
Maharashtra Assembly Leader of Opposition(LoP) Devendra Fadnavis and State Council LoP Praveen Darekar, MP Imtiaz Jaleel, and Vinayak Mete, Jogendra Kawade and Shailendra Kamble leaders were also present in the meeting.
The meeting reached the conclusion that the State Backward Classes Commission should be instructed to prepare the empirical data as soon as possible and further guidance should be sought from the Advocate General in this regard.
It was also mutually agreed that if the data preparation takes time then the upcoming local body polls should be postponed.(UNI)
