Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 25 : Showing no respite from rising number of COVID virus cases and deaths, Kerala Today reported fresh 31,445 positive cases and 215 deaths.

According to a press release from the Health Department this evening, 20,271 people also recovered from the disease today.

About 1,65,273 samples were tested during the last 24 hours and the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) is 19.03 per cent. A total of 3,06,19,046 samples have been sent for testing till this day.

Meanwhile, 215 recent deaths were confirmed today as due to Covid, taking the death toll in the state to 19,972.

Weekly Infection Population Ratio (WIPR) is above 8 at 414 wards under 74 Local Self Governments (LSGs) where strict restriction is being imposed.

In the last 24 hours, Covid was not detected in any person who recently came to Kerala from the UK. So far, 11 people who came from the UK were diagnosed with the virus.(UNI)
