Put emphasis on corona testing: Dr Pawar
Nashik, Aug 25 : As the number of corona infected patients in the district is under control, more emphasis should be laid on testing so that affected patients can be treated in a timely manner and the spread of virus can be controlled, said Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dr Bharti Pawar Today.
Presiding over a review meeting of the Health department held here at the collectorate, she further said that planning should be done through the health system to ensure uniformity of vaccination in rural and urban areas.
Also, in order to avoid overcrowding at vaccination centres, billboards should be set up in front of the vaccination centres to check the availability of vaccines, so that the crowds at the vaccination centres can be kept under control, the Minister said.
Similarly, efforts should be made to make ambulances available to every needy patient in rural areas, she said.
Dr Pawar asked the district surgeon, district Health officer and Municipal Health system to coordinate and propose new measures for strengthening health facilities in the district.
She sought a detailed report on the number of TB patients in the district, which is currently the lowest.
During the meeting, the collector, Municipal commissioner, chief executive officer of Zilla Parishad informed about the measures taken in their area of responsibility.
The collector also gave a presentation on the work done by the District General Hospital, National Health Mission and Municipal Corporation during the Covid period as well as the current situation of corona in the district.(UNI)
