Rahul Gandhi invites opposition leaders for a breakfast meeting
New Delhi, Aug 2:Opposition MPs will hold a strategy meeting on Tuesday morning, as both houses of Parliament witness stalemate over Pegasus snooping controversy, farm laws, and other issues.
The breakfast meeting has been called by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at 9.30 a.m. on Tuesday before the Parliament proceedings start. The meeting will be held at Constitution Club, a stone’s throw away from Parliament.
Opposition MPs and floor leaders of various parties have been invited to the meeting.
The Monsoon Session of Parliament, which started on July 19, has been marred with protests so far. According to sources, opposition parties are also considering holding a mock parliament,
Agitating farmers have meanwhile been holding a ‘Farmer’s Parliament’ at Jantar Mantar, close to the Parliament House.
MPs from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), Samajwadi Party, Shiv Sena, Communist Party of India (Marxist), and other parties are expected to join the meeting.
Trinamool Congress, which has so far kept itself away from such meetings, is also likely to join. (UNI)
