Jalna, Aug 1: The Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Jalna Today decided to dispatch 20 tonnes of wheat flour as relief material to the rain-affected people of the Konkan region on the west coast of Maharashtra.
Ten tonnes of wheat flour was being sent out from Jalna APMC to Konkan today, while the rest would be dispatched on Monday, Arjunrao Khotkar, former minister and chairman of APMC, said on the occasion.
So, lending a helping hand to the calamity-stricken people, this flour was being sent to Mahad in Konkan, he said.
Daily essentials like pulses, rice, and oil are available there but due to power outage, there is a problem of grain grinding, hence wheat flour is being sent to overcome this problem, he added. (UNI)
