Kerala reports 20,624 new COVID cases, 16,865 recoveries
Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 31: Covid-19 was newly detected in 20,624 persons in Kerala Today while 16,865 patients have recovered from the disease, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said.
In a press release here this evening, the CM said, “1,67,579 samples were tested during the last 24 hours and the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) is 12.31per cent. A total of 2,72,17,010 samples have been sent for testing till this day.”
Meanwhile, 80 recent deaths were confirmed today as due to Covid taking the death toll in the state to 16,781.
Today, 323 Local Self Government areas were identified with TPR above 15 percent in the State.
In the last 24 hours, Covid was not detected in any person who recently came to Kerala from the UK.
So far, 11 people who came from the UK were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.(UNI)
