AAP delegation to meet Punjab Governor, seeking dismissal of ministers

Chandigarh, Jul 30 : A delegation of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab will meet the Governor next week, to raise their demand for an immediate action against the ministers allegedly involved in various scams and embezzlements.
In a statement here on Friday, AAP MLA and Kisan Wing state president Kultar Singh Sandhwan and Youth Wing state chief and MLA Meet Hayer said the newly appointed Punjab Congress chief Navjot Sidhu must clarify with whom he stands, either Punjab or the corrupt ministers.
They said a delegation of the AAP MLAs and leaders will meet the Governor under the leadership of Leader of Opposition (LoP) Harpal Singh Cheema, demanding the dismissal of ministers Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi, Sunder Sham Arora and Sadhu Singh Dharamsot from the Cabinet.
They further said if no immediate action will be taken against these ministers, then the AAP will wage a struggle and gherao their residences.
Taking a dig at the Captain government, the AAP leaders said the matter related to Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi of twice getting compensation on the acquired land at Mohan Ke Utaar village on Ferozepur-Fazilka road has now been public, but why Capt Amarinder Singh and Navjot Sidhu are still shielding him.
“Even, Sunil Jakhar’s complaint to Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi against Rana Sodhi has not only proved Sodhi a land mafia but also confirmed the allegations leveled by the AAP from the very beginning,” they added.
Targeting Industries Minister Sunder Sham Arora for his links with former naib tehsildar Varinder Singh Dhoot booked by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau in a disproportionate assets case, Sandhwan said, “Minister Arora should clarify his relationship with the corrupt Naib Tehsildar Dhoot and explain why he is protecting him in corruption cases.
The Minister should respond to the collusion between him and Dhoot in different properties along with multi-crore JCT land scam and industrial plot allotment scam. We have good enough proof against him which will be put in front of the media and the Governor.”
MLA Hayer said on the other hand the Congress government was trying to save its minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, who had squandered crores of rupees from the post-matric scholarship scheme of Dalit students. “If minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot who was given a clean chit by a committee of three IAS officers, is really innocent; then why is the Captain government running to face the CBI probe?” he said.(UNI)
