Kakinada, Jul 30: A married woman was stabbed to death by her father-in-law over an extra-marital affair in Medicherlapalem village of Malkipuram Mandal in the Konaseema region 100 km from here Today, police said.
It is stated that the woman’s husband was away in Gulf countries for quite some time and the woman had allegedly developed contacts with her childhood friend which infuriated the father-in-law, who stabbed her after a heated altercation. He straight away went to the police station and surrendered with the blood-stained knife.
The Malkipuram police who registered a case identified the deceased as Choppala Priya (23) and the accused as Choppala Satyanarayana.
The body was sent to Area hospital Amalapuram for postmortem and further investigation is on, police added. (UNI)
