Maha Govt announces relief package immediately for flood affected areas: Fadnavis
Sangli, Maharashtra, Jul 29 : The Shiv Sena-led MVA government should immediately announce the relief package to flood-hit in the Konkan and Western Maharashtra regions, demanded BJP’s Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis Today.
While talking to reporters after visiting flood-ravaged areas in the district including Palus, Ankalkoop, Islampur and Walva, he said that the government should come out with a rehabilitation policy and also conduct scientific study of flood-hit and landslide-affected places in the Konkan and Western Maharashtra regions, he pointed.
The former chief minister further said that the government could have come forward to give relief to people affected by these natural calamities, as he had done during the last flood situation two years ago.
He sought to know the reason behind the delay in announcing the relief package for the flood affected people.
If a permanent solution is found to the threat posed by floods, then all irrigation schemes of Krishna-Bhima rivers and recommendations of the Vadnere Committee could be implemented, Mr Fadnavis added.
Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Praveen Darekar, former minister Sadabhau Khot, Islampur Muncipal Council chairman Nishikant Patil were also present on the occasion.(UNI)
