Panaji, Jul 13: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant Today handed over the work order for the construction of an existing municipal building at Canacona to MLA Isidore Fernandes.
Rs ten crore project will be constructed by the Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA). The work is expected to commence from this month-end.
Informing about the same, Fernandes said it was a long pending proposal, which was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said despite the financial crunch, the Chief Minister, during the last cabinet meeting, approved the project and sanctioned Rs ten crore.
Mr. Fernandes also thanked Urban Development Minister Milind Naik, who took up the proposal on priority and ensured that the sanction is granted.
“The foundation was already laid for the project,” he said.
The MLA said the existing municipal building was saturated and hence there was an urgent need to have a new facility. (UNI)
