Telangana adds 696 new COVID-19 cases, 6 fatalities on Monday
Hyderabad, Jul 12: Telangana state added 696 new COVID-19 cases until 1730 hours Today, to push the cumulative caseload to 6,32,379 to date.
COVID-19 deaths surged to 3,735 after 6 patients succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours translating a case fatality rate of 0.59 percent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.3 percent, according to the bulletin issued by the Office of the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare here today.
A total of 858 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide in a span of 24 hours taking the overall recoveries thus far to 6, 18,496 constituting a recovery rate of 97.80 percent while the national recovery rate was 97.18 percent.
The number of active cases in the state currently stands at 10,148, the bulletin said.
As many as 1,05,797 samples were tested in the state during the last 24 hours to detect the contagious virus out of which the results of 549 swab samples are awaited.
Cumulatively, 1,98,65,968 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the bulletin said. (UNI)
